Benefits of Reflexology

Reflexology, as a practice, traces its origins back thousands of years to ancient civilizations, including Egypt, China, and India. In ancient Egypt, there are depictions on tombs showing individuals receiving foot treatments - an early form of reflexology. The Chinese have long used reflexology principles as part of their holistic approach to health, rooted in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) that emphasizes the flow of energy, or "Qi," throughout the body.

Reflexology, as we know it today, was developed in the early 20th century by Dr. William Fitzgerald, an American physician. He advanced the idea of "zone therapy," which mapped the body into ten vertical zones, each linked to specific parts of the body. Reflexologist Eunice Ingham further refined these techniques, creating the foundation for modern reflexology by mapping out the reflex points on the feet and hands.

Reflexology is used as a therapeutic treatment to promote overall well-being, alleviate stress, and support the body's natural healing. By applying targeted pressure to specific reflex points on the feet or hands, reflexologists stimulate energy flow and balance bodily systems. Clients receive Reflexology to address various health concerns, including stress, headaches, digestive issues, and chronic pain. While scientific research on its effectiveness is still ongoing, many clients report relief from symptoms and an enhanced sense of relaxation during and following reflexology sessions.
